My gas guage quit working on me. I guess I'll be pulling the furl pump out so If the 85 fuel gives me a bang for the buck I'll do it. If I do decide to go with the 85 and I go to the parts store and they don't have one can I use a 86 or 87??. Let me know what you feel it did to your Vette?

I put the '85 pump in mine because it was not putting out enough volumn for higher RPM's. The '85 pump solved the problem, the TB's have a pressure regulator to set the pressure so don't worry about the high pressure of the '85 pump. If your pump is working fine you won't notice any difference. Mine had 115K miles on it when I changed it. Get the Delco pump if you do change it.

The 85 pump is for an 85 to 87 or 85 to 89 vette, just asking for an 85 will get you the right pump.
Yes, you should notice a big difference after you install the 85 pump! Before I installed it, the motor would act like it was running out of gas at higher rpm - especially in second and third gears. I would give it WOT and would get a sputter and the motor would bog down - not getting enough gas to the TB's because of the less than adequate PSI coming from my stock pump.
GM says 10 PSI is good but it  is NOT. Our CFI needs at least 12 PSI; the 85 pump will feed the TB's with something like 34 PSI, we need only 14-15 PSI which is perfect.
I don't have any of the previous problems since I did the 85 mod. The Crossfire forum has a How To on this mod.
If you do chose to do this, it is highly recommended that you buy an AC Delco pump and not after market or you may end up doing it again soon.

Did you feel any differance in prefromance down low in the RPM's. I heard that you have to modifiy the pump to make it work? I just thought about something, with all that fuel pressure will I need a regulator??zgator2007-10-29 17:37:49

This is a commercial site that doesn't advertise here, but they have good Crossfire Injection info.

A lot of Xfire folks have gone to the later pumps, with great results. As long as the gaskets and regulators on your throttle bodies are in good shape, you should be fine, and you will see/feel a difference in the way it runs.
Don't scrimp if you decide to do this...get the pump from GM, or an AC/Delco distributor.

I priced the GM fuel pump out at something like $85, so it won't break the bank. 

I paid around $75 for the one I put on my '85 a couple of years ago, so that sounds aboot right...

Be sure to get a tank gasket and a new filter sock; the "Kit" I bought from Eckler's for $95 didn't come with either, but they sell them.
The regulator in the back TB will be all the regulation you will need - No external, extra regulator needed.
From the factory, the regulator screw has a cover soldered over it, unless someone has already done this, you will need to it drill out - which is no big deal to do.  You will also need a special tool to adjust the pressure. I know of two different tools, one is a flexible like screw driver which is difficult to use, the other is from DCS http://crossfireinjection.net and this one works great!     Phill's Vette2007-10-29 19:41:36
