Topic: Is there any compact spare to fit C3
in Forum: C3 General Discussion
fixaflat does work (get the cans with a flexable hose)if the hole is not exceptionly large. it does coat the inside of the tire and when you get it permanently repaired or replaced for gods sake TELL THE TIRE GUY "IT HAS THE SEALANT IN SIDE" before he goes to remove the tire from the rim. the goup cleans off the wheel easily (if you haven't waited 6 months to have the problem properly fixed and when you fill the tire make sure the connector is completely on the valve stem any runoff from the valve stem onto the area around the valve stem should be cleaned immediately as it will stain up an aluminum wheel)
the above things have been learned through experience and another item of importance you will always have a flat in an area that will not allow you to raise the vette high enough to even think about removing the spare tire with the jack you have on hand.

Thanks again. I checked your ebay link and Yes thats what I was thinking about. Do you think the OD would be enough for ground clearance? . $10 tire plus $39 shipping to CA. Abit much. It would pay for me to check my local junk yard.
Regarding the fixaflat, I have never used it. Does it work? Do you need to clean the tire out later? Does it effect the balancing? Doesn't it put a liquid gunk inside your tire to seal the leak?
Regarding the other old compact spare on the 78, do you need an air canister? thanks again
[/QUOTE]definately check the local junkyards! that item on ebay should be easily found. theres a junkyard in PA called als auto- they specialize in wrecked rebuildables and used parts- they must have have tons of spares.
check the link- (note the 2003 Z06 for sale for $19,500)
