Hi all,

I'm looking at a 71 in Bedford PA, zip code 15522. The listing can be

I was hoping that someone who lives nearby would be willing to stop by
the shop to give it a look over and a test drive on my behalf before I
commit to buying it. I'd also like it if you can ask several
questions about the car while you are there to help to ensure that the
car is as described.

1) Do the brakes work? Do they make any squealing out of the ordinary?
2) Does the car stop in a straight line?
3) Is the alignment right? Does the car pull to a certain side while driving?
4) Do the brake lines look in good condition or dried out?
5) The brake master cylinder shows surface rust in some of the
pictures, how bad is it in person?
6) Do the vacuum and radiator hoses look worn or dried out?
7) Do any cables (ie. shift cable, hood release cable, throttle cable,
etc.) show signs of excessive wear?
8) Does anything leak from the transmission, engine, power streering,
differential, etc?
9) Does the differential make funny noises when you drive it?
10) Verify that the AC works
11) Do the doors droop?
12) Is there obvious rust in the birdcage?
13) Is the frame rusty?
14) Does the car look if its ever been hit or dented?
15) Is there any evidence of bondo or other repairs to the body?
16) Does the convertible mechanism seem to work properly?
17) Do both of the tops line up?
18) What kind of condition are both of the tops in? Does the soft top
have any holes?
19) What condition is the weatherstripping on the entire car,
including on both of the tops?
20) Does the chrome appear pitted?
21) Are the headlights slow to react?
22) Does the rear leaf spring still have its curve?
23) Do the rest of the suspension seem to work properly?
24) Do the bushings (body and suspension) show dry rot or other excessive wear?

If these seem like too much and you'd be willing to help with less
questions I'd give you an abridged list with however many questions
you'd be willing to do.
