Vette(s): 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Just bought it from my uncle who owned it since 1971. Fathom green, green interior. 350/300, T400.
Took the '69 to it's first two last last 2 weekends. 1st show I got 1st in my class. 2nd show I got 2nd-there wasn't a stock class, so I got beat by a 75 that was chromed out, oh well. Then an older gentleman came up to me and told me he bought a car just like mine in 1969, we kept talking, turns out he was the original owner! He told me where he bought it, he sold a '59 Vette to buy it. He was so excited he bought a disposable camera and had his picture taken with it. He has pics at home from when it was new in 1969, we exchanged addresses and he's going to send me some pics!

Now that is an awesome weekend for you and for the man you met. I am sure he must have been really excited about running into his old car. Very Cool!!

Awesome to meet the original owner who came to admire your car. Hopefully this will pan out to a new friendship too. Congrats on your show win too.

I pretty much have all the original paperwork (window sticker, protecoplate, owner's manual etc), but he said he'd look. He did say he had some pics of the car from 1969! We exchanged numbers and plan to keep in touch. Funny thing is that his inlaws live 2 blocks from me, small world huh? I told him that he could stop by for a ride.

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks. #2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
So cool. It makes you feel good to get some feed back from a previous owner. I sent a letter to this guy that owned my car. I found his insurance card under the seat after I bought it. Also, the same name was on the title. I didn't think I would get any response, but I did. I sent my email address to him and he got back with me. Now I know more about the car. Found out it has a little over 50,000. on the engine with the original cam, etc. The car sat for a long time. He bought it in 1983 and kept it in the garage. Had to sell it because he got married, had a kid and it just was not economical to store and didn't have time like he used to drive it. He was the second owner, so I'm the third. He said that he hoped I enjoy the car as much as he did...................if only he knew how much I LOVE THAT CAR!!!
