Nice, very nice. Thumbs%20Up I would like to see the 69 Camaro. Those buggers are selling higher than the corvettes now.

Vette(s): 1969 L46 4 Speed Roadster

We are cruising to the local Sonic this evening to meet with some of our car club members to get discount food.  The manager gives us meals at half price for parking the cars there and bringing in extra business.

As for the Camaro, you are right.  It is worth more than the Vette.  It appraised at $41,000.00 a year ago.

You can see it at www.cardomain.com/ride/719562   Click on my member name 69SS350 to see both cars.

Jim,
Both the Vette and Camaro are beautiful. You are very fortunate to have them. Thanks for the pics.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments.  We love both cars.

I have a very close tie to each of them because of the labor that I put into them and the attention to detail that I give them.  We have had the 69 Camaro for 8 years.  It is an original SS 350 4 Speed car.  It was a basket case when I bought it in 1999.  I diassembled the entire car.  Every last nut and bolt.  Replaced floor pans, trunk pan, tail panel, dash panel, rear quarters, fenders, header panel and valance.  That's just the sheet metal.  I sure did a lot of cutting and welding.  Then I rebuilt the engine, trans and rear, put the subframe under the body, replaced all of the suspension and added rear disc brakes. Replaced the wiring harneses and all electrical components. Installed the drivetrain and trailered it to the body shop where it spent 30 days.  I was at the body shop on 9/11 helping install the fenders, hood, doors, deck lid, and all of the other parts that were painted off of the car.  We finished the assembly the next day. The whole project took about 20 months.

The Vette went alot faster because the body was in fantastic shape.  I did lift the body off the frame to clean and paint the frame, replace the fuel and brake lines. Installed a complete new suspension, brakes, rebuilt the drivetrain, rebuilt the original shifter, new wiring harnessess and all electrical components, upgraded to Flamethrower II ignition, replaced the interior, rebuilt the wiper door and headlight mechanisms, new vacuum hoses and components, added Hot Rod Air, an aluminum radiator with dual spal's and an L88 hood.  All of it done, by me, in 13 months.

The car was originally Lemans Blue.  It will go back to the original color in a couple of years.

Sometimes I wish that I had the financial backing to do this full time instead of just as a hobby.  But then again, I might get burned out doing it because I had to.

Thanks again.  Jim

Jim -- From your next door neighbor (KS), what awesome cars!!  Thumbs%20Up  I love the old Camaros too!  My middle daughter is a nurse in Jeff City, so I'll have them look for your cars.  So don't be surprised if you get stopped by them to say 'hi.' Lookin' good, brother!  Mike

Mike, You can tell your daughter that we will be at Lowe's in Jeff City on Saturday 06/16 for our club cruise-in with both cars.  Then the last Saturday of June we will be downtown for the MDA Cruise. Our club assists with that event every month to raise money for MDA.  If you are coming to Jeff City for anything, let me know.
