Well, I received the replacement carb from Holley today. I will have it installed this evening and hopefully that will be the last of the gremlins and everything will run correctly. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!! It has finally come together. The replacement carb works great. I installed it did a quick tune on the choke, idle mixture screws and the accelerator pump and damn that car runs great. We went on a 100 mile cruise on Sunday, driving some good twisting, turning Missouri back roads. Then we got out on a stretch of highway in the Missouri River bottoms and ran for about 5 miles at 90 MPH. I am happy now!!!

If you ever get to Jeff on the last Saturday of the month, make a stop on High Street. The MDA Cruise-in is from 4:30 to 9:00. There are usually about 300 cars there. The wife and I are usually there with the Camaro and the Corvette.
Here we go again. On Friday evening we went to the local Sonic Drive-in with our car club and after that we went for a cruise. I turned on the lights at 8:00 because it was dusk. No problem. We stopped at the ice cream shop with another Vette (65 roadster). When we got ready to leave at 9:00, I started the car and when I pulled out the light switch, only the parking lights worked. No headlights. Boy was I ticked. It's like a never ending battle. My friend drove his 65 Vette in front of me and I tucked up under his rear for the 10 mile drive to my house with no headlights. Didn't see one cop. I was busy all weekend so I didn't get a chance to take the dash apart until yesterday. I removed the switch and I could hear pieces rattling around in there. I took the switch apart and broken plastic pieces fell on the workbench. Great. I ordered a new one. It should be in on Thursday. I sure hope that the gremlins find some other garage to invade.

Plug that new switch in first and check all of the functions out before buttoning it all back up. There have been some really bad switch problems with aftermarket stuff...best to check it before...
Sorry you seem to be having so many issue with yer car, but just think of it like this...eventually, you'll REALLY be finished!!

I have been building cars for more than 30 years. I have never had so many gremlins in one car before. I replaced or rebuilt almost every part on the car. This was still the original switch. It was working just fine when I put the car back together so I didn't replace it. Mistake!!! I am trying to keep the faith but my wifes patience is beginning to wear thin. I did a complete frame off of her 69 Camaro from January 2000 to September 11, 2001. The only problem that we have encountered was a burned out starter after the first 5 years of driving. Absolutely nothing else. My poor Vette can't get off of first base.
I replaced the headlight switch last night. The lights come on and they pop up with a snap!!! Went for a 30 mile cruise after I finished. It may have been 94 degrees out with 78% humidity but it didn't matter with the top down.
