I am in the process of getting a reproduction of the window sticker for my 69. They want to know the job #.. Grease pencil number on car. I have looked alll over the car for it. No luck. Any suggestions?

I've seen pictures of the build number inside the doors, on the firewall below the heater box and on the rear bulkhead ahead of the fuel tank. The numbers went from 1 to 500 and then reset to 1 again, if this is what you are referring to.

You might also find it written on the inside of the fenders. What you need is to find a couple(or more) places with the same number. On the convertible, finding the one on the rear body panel might be hard, so looking up under the fenders, and possibly on the firewall would be the place to start.

The job # would have been written on each body panel, as well as on a couple of places on the frame. The frame numbers usually don't survive as well as the ones on the body panels, but I have seen them on the rear crossmember, facing the rear, one the front crossmember facing the front, and even on the side of the frame, just ahead of the rear body mount.....Happy Hunting! Let us know if you find any, and where you found them.Thumbs Up

You may find these numbers on the bottom of the hood behind the insulation pad.

I have looked everywhere for these numbers but have not found any.  I guess sometimes they do not survive .

The ones that survive the most often are written under the rear deck on coupes, since that area is out of the weather, and is not painted. I have pics of the numbers on my '74, both from under the rear deck inside the car, and back by the fuel tank. I need to scan them and upload them somewhere, just to show what we're looking for.
The numbers are written with a grease pencil/lumber marker, usually in black, but I have also seen green marker used. The frame markings on the '74 were with green marker.
I'll dig up the pics I have and try to get them scanned and loaded in the next day or so....

Cool - I've always wondered what the "113" written on the underside of the rear deck meant.  Mine is in red crayon or ink, though.  I'll have to look to see if I can find any matching "113" numbers anywhere else...

Be careful now, as job numbers are different from body numbers.  The numbers written on body parts like hoods, headlight bezels, fenders and others are body numbers.  Body numbers are show in Box 8 on your tank sticker.  Box 1 is the job sequence number.
