Vette(s): 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Just bought it from my uncle who owned it since 1971. Fathom green, green interior. 350/300, T400.
Sensory Overload! It was awesome, I couldn't believe how many 'Vettes there were. The vendors were awesome too, I met with guys from Bairs, Van Steel and many others, it was nice to see their work in person. There were also a couple of C3's restored with the body still off, it was nice to see from that perspective. I've been into cars for 20 years and to alot of shows, but this was the best bar none. My only regret is that I didn't have more to spend!

I was there as well, of course I live 5 minutes away (on a normal day) but it took me 45 minutes to drive it Saturday, Vettes were backed up as far as you could see trying to get into the show! There were about 2,000 Vettes in the road tour according to the Sunday paper and spectators were everywhere along the route. It was a great day for all the owners, and the weather really was perfect!

I can certainly attest that this is by far the king of all the 'Vette shows. I can remember the first time I went in the early Seventies when it was actually in Bloomington and comparing it to today...Wow!
The "show" prices for parts are unbeatable, too!

I would have liked to have had the opportunity to meet some of you guys there!

I probably saw others there, but I didn't know anybody. I already requested vacation for that weekend next summer, might even drive the 'Vette (4 hr drive). I drove it one hour north to get a paint estimate today with the top down. I had on a tank top, got a hellish sunburn, but boy was it fun!

I didn't make the show on Sunday, just too much stuff to do with cleaning up after the cookout. Turnarr, are you going to Elmhurst next Wednesday (7/7/04)? It's vette night, I'm hoping to be there by about 4:30, I think it will fill up!

Big Fish...

I had actually seen your invitation for the cookout but at that time I thought we were going to be out of town...but in the end we were able to go to Bloomington... Next year for sure! Either way we should meet up sometime... are you ever down south? I live in back of the Tweeter Center....

thanks again
