you should be able to get a trasmission interlock cable at any of the major corvete parts houses

Same thing happened to me..Turned out it was key cylinder.

If you havent gotten the key out yet , you might want to look under the power brake booster. On my 76 there is a lever there that you can pull to release the key. Hope this helps

I was able to get a good cable. Replaced it. Now I'm movin' down the road again.
