I have the front of my car jacked up with floor jackes to replace the power steering components. The new components have not arrived and are going to be late. Is there a problem leaving the fron of the car jacked up for about 2 weeks? The front wheels are not touching the ground and I left the tires on.

Thanks, Mark

I had my vette on front jacks for almost two months while I was doing my engine swap. I did not notice anything changed to the frame or suspension after it was put back down. hope this helps.

To relieve some unsprung weight you could pull the tires/wheels. But for that short a period of time it shouldn't be a problem.

I hope you mean jack stands and not just sitting on floor jack

Relayer,

My car was on a lift for the last month +. The only difference that I noted was that I had to be careful opening & closing the doors due to flexing of the body.

Now that it is down, all is back to normal. Since only your front is jacked, you should be OK.

Just remember not to slam your doors to close them. |no-no|

I nearly lost a side window.

Good luck,

Anthony

When I jack my car up I always leave the hood unlatched and open the doors. This helps on the fiberglass body from cracks. Happy New Year everybody, Vettebeige81

well please dont get under it with floor jacks.

its very hard on hydraulic jacks to leave them that way.

and ive seen 2 different floor jack blow a seal and collapse one of them was new out of the box...

invest in a good set of jack stands.. not cheapo specials.. i had a set of cheap jack stands collapse on me and nearly kill me once when i was in my teens..

a good 6 ton crafstman professional set only cost me 40$ on sale a while back.. well worth it.

I have a set of 6 tons i use for the front and a set of 3.5 tons for the back.

overkill on stands can save your life.
