Does anyone know if there was a limited edition in 82 that was a copper on copper color? A friend of mine has a guy telling him that there were only about 75 of these made. In looking in the statistics area I can find no evidence of this, but I know you guys will know better than I. The car has 27K original miles and the guy wants $24K for it. I just don't want my buddy to be taken for a ride. I told him to look here and join if he was going to by a C3! Thanks, Tom

The only "Limited Edition" Corvettes in '82 were the Collectors Edition cars...way more than 75 of those!
Sounds like someone is try to pull a fast one.
It's possible that a dealer, or some other entity took 75 cars and did a "Limited Edition", but it weren't GM...

Sounds like he is trying to pass off a Collector's Edition as being much rarer than it is. 24K for a really nice '82 CE is not out of the question.

I'm sure there isn't one person alive that hasn't been led astray at least once in their lives. A nice shiny low mileage car and a slick talker can put stars in your eyes. Especially when you think your going to have something almost nobody else has.
I have learned a lot from this board and just don't want to see anyone taken for a ride. Especially someone I know. When my membership is up for renewal I will be going Gold or Lifetime. Looks like I caught the Vette bug. Thanks again, Tom

Another thought would be for him to get the paint code numbers from the door area. This should tell what the OEM color is. No way dispute how rare it might be if the numbers are or aren't a match.
Yes please check the paint #'s also the vin # and any other # you can find. Ask the guy how he knows this. I've never seen a copper color 82 and you say it has matching interior. Check the door panel. A CE has leather uppers all the way from the carpet to the window. I own a 82 CE so if you have any questions please ask. I'm not even sure they offered that color. I'll check my 82 brosure to see the color chart.
