The pic is of the trans crossmember area of the frame....not sure if the question is about the weld on the frame, or if there is something screwy with the seat mounting reinforcement....more info would be beneficial...

Photo updated. This is on the mid crossmember, want to know if this appears original or a “patch/fix job”. Photos taken and sent to me, car is out of state but all else they’ve sent looks good.
What YEAR car is this? Frames halves were typically "stitch" welded in sections about 3-4 inches long. A pic with a longer view of the frame would help, but what I see doesn't appear to be a factory weld....looks kinda amateur-ish. That being said, I've seen some NASTY factory welds on these cars, especially on the lower control arm brackets and around the spring pockets.
