I would watch ebay and craigslist. But some sort of inspection would be mandatory on a vette of that age. Also check with members of your local vette club.

Project car is pretty vague... a little more detail about what you are after would be nice. I like looking through Corvette Forum's For Sale section. Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
Smile LOTS of them out there, depends on what money you want to spend and the depth of work you are able to tackle.

i would like to find a car that is in a somewhat driveable condition, by that i mean every thing is there  interior is together but parts need replacing and that has minimal rust to the bird cage area, i plan on doing a body off restor.

I know of a '72 LT1 Air coupe for sale in Indiana...hasn't been on the road for 15 years, and the guy is askin $15,000. I can put you in contact with someone, if you(or anyone else) might be interested. I believe it is a yellow w/black interior...
This is a dang good deal for an LT1 air car, depending on how the car actually looks. Obviously, it will need some work.
