Sorry to hear about your accident and glad to hear you're ok.  Don't worry about the car right now - focus on getting better first.  Don't sign or agree to anything with the insurance company until you're ready.

That sucks! Get better soon! My advice is to lawyer Up! I have only had to deal with that three times so far and twice I wasn't even driving. Whats a good way to put this...they will try to wait you out, or how about this, the first one to blink loses. If your hurt and sounds like you are go to the doctor, chiropracter, physical therapy and keep going until you feel right. Get your car back, it's still your's, god knows what can happen to it while it's sitting in a yard somewhere. Do not use their recomended shops for the repair, I would ask for their list of repair shops so you don't go to one accidentally. Do your homework on diminished value, even if they say they can fix it since it's been wrecked it will never be right and you are entitled to the difference in vlaue. Oh yeah the insurance company might forget to mention this to you. I could go on and on but the truth is they're a business and paying out settlements affects their bottom line so keep that in the back of your head when you deal with them. I hope you get healthy soon!

I want to thank everybody that replied. You all are great friends. I went to the NADA web site and printed out the value. Low is $14,485. average is$23,875. tralier queens is 36,178. My Vette is high average. This whole thing makes me sick. I think I will get a lawyer.maybe I can get one to day. You all are great people and I consider you friends even though I can't see you. Again, thanks to everybody.

Sorry to hear about the accident, I would advise you to talk to an attorney BEFORE  you even talk to the insurance co. The adjusters are trained to work against you,,Been there done that so take a fools advise,,RD

Mike,

You sound peeved,,,,,,,sounds like your feeling better.

Jason;s right, it's your car & it should be your descision.  See what the insurance man offers before you call in the big guns.

In the future, you may want to consdider an insurance company with an agreeed value like Hagerty & Grundy so that you know what it's worth in case of an accident.

Good luc,

Anthony
I told the cop that I have AAA when he asked what towing service do you want. He said I could't use it. I don't know why.
The Police will have a car towed and impounded  from a list of companies that they have a prearranged agreement with. It's up to your insurance co. to retrieve the vehicle asap to thier preferred storage to avoid extensive daily storage fees while waitng evaluation of the matter. At least, that is how California AAA handles business.
         take care of yourself.

ZGATOR,
So sorry to hear about your wreck. Man, that stinks!
As so many members have already said, worry about yourself first and then dig in for the ins. co. matters when you are up to it.
I'm glad you're well enough to have posted a few replies.
Hang in there. We're all thinking of you.

I got the car home. it's not as bad asI thought. Frame looks ok. All it reallly needs is a front clip. Do any of you know where I can get a GOOD one.The fender on the drivers side is toast. I'm lucky I had my seat belt on. There is blood all over the car, an inside the seats have a lot of blood. Should I clean it off or leave it alone until the adjuster has looked at it? I just got this insurance co. I canceled my old insurence. I also called a Lawyer that handles this kind of stuff. He's going to call me tomorrow. I have never been in this situation before. It's hard for me to type this. Even with my glasses I can't see very good. I guess thats from hitting the windshild with my headzgator2007-11-25 12:44:12

Here are a few on clips EBAY now.
EBAY CLIPS

I don't really like them but they might give you a price idea. Somewhere in the C3VR Archives is a large Vette Graveyard that we talked about in one of the posts. Maybe one of the members has some information on it. If not I'll find it. It will take me a while but I know it is there to be had.

Okay I found it.... Here is a link to the C3VR post (Not For THe Faint Of Heart):

ADAMS POST

It was posted by Adam and it references Contemporary Corvette.

They might be able to help you out with a used piece. If you want a new clip I would talk with ACI Industries. They supply most of the Vendors and do excellant work!

ACI

As far as the blood I think I would have it professionally cleaned after all pictures and anything else that may come up are settled.

Hang in there we are all hoping for the best!

I did get a lawyer. He is going to get in touch with me tomorrow. I'm charging up my camara to take pics but I don't know how to get them on the site. Somebody I hope can walk me through it.
