First of all, glad you survived, and get well quickly. I just turned 60 and I can tell you that I don't rebound near as quickly from bumps bruises and general abuse as I once did. There is little I can add to what has already been posted....just wish you a speedy recoevery and a speedy and just insurance settlement.

There is no substitute for low end torque!
Michael....next time you insure a Corvette be sure to have a set amount of dollars you would like to have from your car in case it is totaled.
No fuss, no muss and ......NO LAWYERS !!!
Remember, if you have a lawyer negotiate on your behalf, they want their cut of the monies received,,,,and it is usually a BIG cut.
Another source of used Corvette parts...located north of the Minneapolis....a very depressing place...so many disemboweled Corvettes.

If they haven't already, the insureance company will more than likely give you $X for the car, or $Y if you keep it. Make sure you have documents that show other cars of your year, model, and condition, and what the "going" value is, otherwise the insurance company will try to low-ball you. If you decide to keep it, you will have to get it inspected in order to be re-insured. Chances are your current insurance company will not want to re-insure the car. Also, your re-registration may show may show that it is now a "salvage" vehicle.......that may not be the case in all states.
The adjuster got ahold of me today. He checked the service they use for a cars worth. He said I was right on the money when I told him it was a tick under $24,000. He also told me that he told Travlers that my Vette was by his experience well above average condition. He told me to have the car taken to my bodyshop as soon as I could get it there. He said the only place he could find the pinstripes and fades was Phoenix. He also located all the NOS fenders, hood, front bumper, ect. He said he is going to get it done right because of the fact it's a collector Ed. He is a car guy himself and not some hack that has no interest in cars.
