i have a lift Bruce.... men, don't know now how i did it without one... it's so much easier and also more preventive: now i see most troubles ahead because you can inspect the underside so easy and fast... it's as a normal procedure before or after a drive...LOL and i have already had to tighten alot of bolts... even lost some....

also with the exhaust , fiberglass spring, shocks etc... would be a pain laying on your back.... Confused

For me it was worth the investment ! Clap

I recently got my 2 post up, and boy is it nice!  When I was shopping for mine,  I found out that a lot of lifts are not "certified", meaning they are not independently tested for safety,  which seems to be a big issue in the industry.  I went with 'Bend-Pac' because they are "certified" for safety  and durability.  They are a little more exspensive, but worth it.  They also included the frieght in the purchase price, so the cost  was almost the same( just a little more) as the cheaper ones when included the frieght.....Just something to think about !!!  deeboy592007-10-10 11:10:17

Dave did your TPCL6 come with the 16 piece adapter kit? Did you have it delivered to your house or a trucking company? I've been looking at that model for some time now. Is it quality made, I hope after my wife reads this maybe she will break down and let me get it   LOL.   Thumbs%20Up

Great DEEBOY,
I was looking at the Bend Pac one just now, they want $1350 including freight, which I agree would be the same as a cheaper one with no freight. Approve

And like you say, it is certified - probably more safe in the long run. Maybe not even chinese steel.. Clap

How's it fit under your C3? The 26 inch lift is OK?

Bruce

I have a bend-pak scissor lift - best thing since sliced breadThumbs%20Up. My garage is small so it's perfect. I have 2x12's on each side since the trans crossmember hits. When I do graduate to a bigger garage, I'll keep this lift and also get a 2 or 4 post lift.

This is great advice guys!  I am thinking about one and haven't decided on a scissors lift or a two post. The scissors lift takes up less space but I have 13 foot ceiling so a two post is no problem either.  Thanks for all the advice.

dang, that happens all the time. when i got mine all that was included was the mid rise pads. that kit makes it even better. a trucking company delivered it to my house and because they were early i didn't have any kind of lift to hoist it off. driver was cool and we bought out to the edge of the lift gate on the truck and we lowered it on to my utility trailer. slight pain but got it off the truck. don't know about the others but this is a sturdy unit and like was said don't know how i did without it. when i lift car i make sure the pads are positioned correctly and raise the car about a foot and shake the h**l out of it. if no problems i lift it all the way and again check it by shaking the car. is as steady as it was about a foot off the ground.

the scissor lift can't be bolted to the floor as the front legs roll back as it goes up. when it is down you can move it if you need to as the power unit hooks in the end and you use it like a hand truck.

start taking out the wife for some romantic dinners and and then explain how great these are and hopefully she'll let you get one.Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

if you have the ceiling room that would be a great choice. i would have gone that way too except my ceiling is only 8' so i figured i would be wasting half the lift.

complete hydraulic lifts are also tested by the manufacturer according to the american safety standards and have to pass a stress test of the proper lifting capacity.

I think if ceiling height is not an issue you'd kick yourself for not getting a nice two-post lift.
