I just moved into a new house a couple of months ago... While I was moving, a guy pulled up in his caddie vert and introduced himself. He said he stopped to meet the new neighbor (and ask about the 69 in the garage) I think the 69 is really why he stopped. He said I should come down sometime to look at his cars. Well, last night while teaching my 3 year old to ride his bike, i walked by this guys' house, and his garage was open. I stopped.
Now, here's where the story beigins:
In the left bay of his garage is a PRISTINE '64 vert, saddle tan, with black leather interior. Absolutely Gorgeous... The he tells me it has 241 miles on it.
Oh, it gets better.... On the lift above his '64 is a '78 pace car with 53 miles on it... (fifty-three!!!!, not fifty-three thousand)
Unbelievable!!!!
I'll be stopping by a lot more in the future...

Vette(s): 73 Conv, Blue-Green/White Top - 454, M21 - Dark Saddle Leather, Power Windows, A/C, Tilt/Tele, AM/FM St. (orig. and sounds like it too).#2 -- 2007 Coupe,3 LT package, Z51 option, Victory Red, Ebony Int. Clear Top.
My '73 has 62K and I have had it a couple months and lucky enough to get a couple days in... put about 300 on it so far. I guess at 8-9 MPG (pushing that), I will be selective on when I drive it... so that means i can only go to Spring Fling in PA... Ocean City in spring and fall... Corvettes Carlisle... and of course first time Bowling Green first time (thats 1400 round trip for me).. oh yea.. can't forget local shows (under 100 miles one way)and Sat Nite cruise in. So I guess I feel if your gonna buy one, and want the BB... screw the mileage and the miles... enjoy.
Like my tags say, Fuelsh or you could read it foolish
Just my 2 pennies. This is my second Vette. Bought my first one new in 69 and sold it in 72 with 96K. I don't think i will see a third. I'm 57 and hope i got a couple more years to ride.
Don't want to be one to say.. damn... I wish I had .... wish I had....

Yep, bought my '71 to drive. It's got 89K on the clock but it's been around at least once and the engine has seen some serious work. I've just done the rear bearings and they were originals on one side! I'll be back on the road soon and driving as much as I can. All my cars get driven regularly. What's the sense in keeping them in the garage?

The joy of owning these cars is DRIVING them, not leaving them in the garage. That means they'll pick up nicks or worse, but if I can't drive it, I'd rather not own it.

Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
Well, I know my car isn't the lowest, but it's a 1976 and when I bought it last Sept. It had 71K on it, I belive it now how 73K on it!!
