I have often said that the Corvettes were not built like the Space Shuttle. Often the 68-72 front bumpers don’t fit as neatly and uniformly as others. The rubber ducky C3s that replace their Urethane bumpers with Fiberglass or Flexiglass also seldom fit exactly right out of the box. Often these bumpers were returned with the statement that they did not fit. For years, I have advised that they seldom fit right out of the box.
After reading Dave McLellans new book CORVETTE from the INSIDE, we have further proof of the fit and finish of C3s.

PS But I still love them, and they are more precise than C2s, which in turn were a step above the C1s in uniformity and exactness.

Many of the parts purchased for my 76 did not fit. Not being a mechanic/bodyman, I thought it was just my ignorance but now I realized that's just the personality of the C3. You still gotta luv them though...
