Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
I hate to say it, but it seems like I'm SOL when it comes to finding a decent mechanic here in the good ole state of Michigan, who will care for my car as much as I do when she's not feeling well.

The only Vette shop near me that I know of is Drago's in Flint, but I haven't been impressed with their facilities the few times I've been in there (can't speak for their expertise as I've never had anything fixed by them).

Don't any of the other Michiganders on this site have a mechanic or shop that they would recommend to a brother Vetter next time he might need repairs? |sad| |biggrin| |laugh| |thumb|

I know, you're all a bunch of wrenchheads |wink| who do your own repairs, but some of us just aren't that mechanically inclined. I'd hate to have to drive 6-8 hours down to Indiana just to get repairs done by a reputable mechanic, and let's face it, if something's going to go wrong, or is going wrong, there's no way I'm driving that long to a repair shop! |toungecool|

Come on guys...got any recommendations you'd post to the site?

Sorry, Can't help you with this one. The only work I had done that I didn't do myself was at a shop in Pontiac. That guy whet out of business thank goodness. Now there is a new guy in there but I don't know anything about him so I can't recommend him. I would check with any local parts stores to see if they could recommend any near you. I get most of my Vette parts from A place in Lake Orion and they recommend a couple of guys. There again I don't know any of them.
Good Luck

I know a guy that's good with engines but he's not close to Flint. He's actually near Paw Paw on I94 near Kalamazoo. If you want some details email me and I'll send his phone number. |thumb|
