Hi everyone,
This is my new toy.
The engine was replaced by a new GM crated big block 502 ci.
No roblem with HP with this one.
It was dynoed at 535 HP and 550LBFT ...
Yeah baby....
Nothing connected to the engine (electric fans ...).
To handle this kind of torque the rear end was completly rebuild. Racing frame, four links, 9" Ford.
It breaths through four open exhausts (side and rear).
It looks stock .... until you start it !!
This is a real blue 69 shark

Beautiful mount! You should name it "The Mongoose", since a Mongoose kills Cobras!
One Beautiful C-3! I had an old GTO a similar color with white interior that was also a real looker. I like the continuous looks of the L-88 hood that eliminates the wiper door. My 69 has the short L-88 hood with everything working fine and rebuilt. But I was considering cutting it about 2 inches back and glassing in a longer section making it continuous like yours. Never satisfied! How is the handling and ride with the 4 link? Don't think I ever heard of a Corvette with a 4-link that wasn't narrowed. Guess that addition and the 502 would definately classify it as a muscle car. Enjoy your classy ride!
BTW, do those Crager's use wheel spacers or are the calipers notched for wheel clearance?
I always liked the look of the 15 inch Cragers but didn't want the hastle with clearance problems.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments,
Red you do know your corvette .......
It is incredible what you can tell on my car just with these photos !!!!
Yes there is a spacer to accomodate the 15" cragar. I dont think it is the best solution for this car especialy with this kind of torque. The four links allow a multitude of ajustments for the ride, and the 9" is obviously locked so this car grab....I'll post picture of the carriage.
The real question I have for you all is:
When I was shopping for a 69 I was looking for an original with frame off restauration, and I looked for years and found one. But this one came along and I had a real tough decision to take. For one they were just about the same price, one would be original and maybe not an every day ride, the other (the shark) has a new non original, engine, back frame and differentiel, paint (quartz blue 92), interior (white), all autometer gages and the list of non original goes on, but it's a real racing beast.
I guess you know my decision by now but
What would YOU have done ...

I wish i could hear it run. GREAT car

Lolochar, thanks for the confidence in my knowledge of Corvettes, but actually I have a 69 and just know some of the modification problems. There are other interesting and observable modifications as well. Others on this board make me humble with their mechanical knowledge and skill. That is why I am here, to learn.
Your last question will get answers as different as there are different people buying Corvettes. The important thing is what you like and what makes you happy. I think it was tastefully done with a very attractive final product. I like the interior and the upgraded gauges which eliminate failure of the originals. I like modified cars and am always curious how people accomplished the task. You did well IMO.
BTW, are those 255-60 tires all around?
