Working on my 79 project car, getting ready to pull the radiator, I went under the front to unbolt the bottom of the radiator bracket...

and discovered the remains of what was in the past the front spoiler and valance of the underskirt front end....I was irritated at first but resolved it since the car is 47 years old......amazing how much rust can accumulate on a fiberglass installation!

From what I can infer, this was not the original.......all kinds of different screws and bolts holding it on.  I have removed enough of the front end to access the bracket.  Yay Me!

BP, looks like your having fun. That front spoiler and what remains of the valance panel look original for a '79, just no telling how many times it's been "fixed" by Bubba our favorite Corette mechanic or previous owner. I believe both parts are the same for '73 through '79 and are readily available. Good luck and keep us posted as to your progress !!

Will do....looks like this will be cheap parts replacement (less than $100) considering that the entire interior needs to be done, including the molding and seats......

I have a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/memascar/ that is documenting my successes and failures.....feel free to join in!
