Vette(s): 1976 Stingray,Totally rebuilt with new original paint color. Car now has over 450 horse power with a few more still on the way.
Every year Corvette has been promised for the 50th celebration except 1976. I talked to the lady last week. I would have taken mine but the fact that it is 800 miles away and they want the car til November , kind of made me think twice about doing it. If anyone wants to have their car in the Celebration call the Museum.

Vette(s): It's a 1976 L-48 auto Red with Firethorn and white delux interior, 68,000 miles. I have tried to restore it to NCRS specs and have recieved 1 Bronze 3 Silver, 1 Gold Spinner and Top Gun, Best C3 Vette at Chicago's Chevy/Vette Fest.
Any chance that you have the number to the museum? My '76 isnt well enough to drive any great distances due to a bad rear wheel bearing and a MAJOR lack of funds due to unemployment, but heck I can trailer it anywhere. Just let me know.

Vette(s): 1976 Stingray, L48 auto Buckskin/Buckskin Leather originally. Numbers matching.
I am generally not a fan of red Vette's, too cliche(?), but Gregg, beautiful, just beautiful. |grin|

Gregg,

According to a book title I've seen (but not read yet) 'ALL CORVETTES ARE RED'...!!! Great looking ride! |smokin|

Here's the blurb from the May 21st NCM Update:

**********************************************
1976 CORVETTE NEEDED TO COMPLETE 50 YEAR STATIC DISPLAY

One space in the 50th Anniversary static display inside the Museum is open and needs to be filled. A 1976 Corvette is needed to complete the display. Display cars must be as close to original as possible-with no visible modifications, decals, etc. Cars selected as part of the highly promoted "50 Year" static display inside the Museum will remain on exhibit through October 2003 to complete the 2003 show season. This "static" display is an indoor exhibit and not part of the 50 Year Evolution Display being showcased in Nashville / BG as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration. If you own a 1976 Corvette and are interested in participating in the 50 year static display contact Betty Hardison at: betty@corvettemuseum.com or (800) 53-VETTE.

Thanks for the information and the great comment. Hearing words like yours lets me know all my hard work doesn't go unnoticed. I made sure to dash off an email as fast as my fingers could type. Now just to sit patiently for a reply. Soon as I hear something I and decide I will post it here. Thanks again!

After a few calls down to the museum I did get to talk with Adam Boca and he had told me that it wasnt a 1976 that they were looking for it was a 1974. I did not recieve a call or email from Betty Hardison and if I do I will let everyone know what reply I get. So if anyone is interested give Adam a call at 1-800-538-3883. Good Luck!

It sounds like instead of 'Crossed Flags' down there, there must be some 'Crossed Wires'...!!! |laugh|
