[QUOTE=VETTERBOB]like you all said .. thank god no one was seriously injured. alot of work went into that car. i  know how easy it is to lose it with 500+ ponies at your feet. when some one wants to pass me ... i just stay steady and let him go. the roads are no place to fool around.
Eddie is this the car you posted on vette tube ... first start up or something like that.

Bob this is the car that I posted on Vette Tube. You could hear in the videos that this was going to be a pretty stout car and it is. I talked with Mike earlier today and he is pulling the motor and the car is going to a body shop for an estimate sometime this week.

[QUOTE=Tuxblacray]I read this the other day and hated seing the car all broken up like that.I was glad to read nobody was hurt. I knew how bad he must have felt. It is good that he has friends close for support.

Is he considering another vette or is it over with? One thing for sure that ride will always be embedded in his memory. It sure was a pretty thing.

On another but similar note how is that LS1 in your car? I have always admired your ride and that would just help add more value to the sweetness for me...

Tux, we need to make sure we catch up with each other at BG this year if we go.

Mike is kind of torn right now about the car. He really likes this car and it is his dream car. He has not told me right out yet that he wants to rebuild it but he seems to be coming around to this direction. I for one hope that he does. He has offered for me to drive it a number of times and I have always refused. I did not want something like this to happen while I was driving.

The LS swap is going on in Mike's garage right now. He has a huge garage and offered to help me at his place. Its a great place to work on cars. We were going to work on it Sunday as we had planned. Then this happened. I have my stock motor pulled and setting on some legs made to store the motor. The LS motor is mated to my Keisler with the stock bellhousing. I need to replace one u-joint on my driveshaft. Initially the u-joint had a rough spot in it when I pulled the drive shaft. Then every thing will be ready to drop in to the engine bay.
I am to start a refueling outage this coming Monday at work and will not be able to get back at the swap for at least 35 days or so.

I am planning on going to BG on May the 24th. It will be a 1 day drive down hang out, visit, thing much like last years.

Two things that can effect that plan are rain and I am not sure yet of when graduation is for my daughter. I will check and let you know.

I hope Mike does what his heart tells him is right. His car looked awesome before. Unlike aome of the other comments I believe their is a point that only he can determine if the car should be rebuilt.

Take care Eddie, let us know when you can how the LS swap goes.

Vette(s): 1970 T-Top350/350hp numbers matching 4 speed. It's a mess and 1970 Convertible 4 speed.
The good news it looks all cosmetic. Does it still run? Any frame damage? Is the engine still good?

I hope it is worth the cost of repairing. I hate to see a Vette totaled or parted out.
