Hey gang... I need your help!
Last fall when I was up on Pocono Raceway, I was making a "lane change" move which was a quick hard move to the right, then quickly back to the left. I was probably going around 40 or 50 mph.
During that move, I heard something metal fall of the car onto the pavement. I stopped to get out and fetch the part, and to this day I have no clue where it came from! Here are some shots of it. I put it next to my keys so you could get a size perspective on it.
Click any of the thumbnails for a larger version!
Thanks!

Hey Adam. I've been thinking hard and the only thing I could think that it resembles is a corner piece of the distributor shield. So then I broke out my assembly manual and was looking through that trying to catch something and the closest thing I found is in a drawing I scanned in at the link below.. its circled in red. Wish I was home so I could check my Vette itself.

Dale,
Thanks! I think you might have found it!
I'll have to crawl under there tomorrow and see if that bracket is missing.
I'm glad to know it's mostly a cosmetic piece!
I'll let ya know!

Nobody, has posted on this in months, but I found it interesting that the same thing happened to me recently, and the part Dale circled looks a helluva lot like the one I picked up(I was going uphill at 50 with the once semi-functional A/C on...A/C died same time the piece dropped..I think)....was curious if Adam still had those pictures...and if you had ever figured out where the part really went..

Well, I fixed the picture links, as you can probably tell.
As far as finding out where it went, I just assumed that the answer in this thread was correct, but I never went to see if that's where it goes.
