The trim tag on the driver's front door jamb should have some more info (paint/trim codes & body build date) about the car for you.

According to my books, the V in your engine code is for a Flint Engine Plant motor, the HE is for a 300 HP 327. The 8s419125 matches your vin, meaning that is the original block for the car.
The trans. number is the main case number for a M-20-speed correct for a 1968 model.
The intake number is for either a 300 or 350 hp 327.
It sounds like that all the parts are original to your car. There should be additional numbers on the tran. and a casting number on the rear drivers side top of the block, and a casting date on the rear passenger top of the block. Head numbers will be under the valve covers. Hope that this helps. Tom

thanks tom, i've looked on the net, but can't seem to find the right place to figure out the numbers. Those were the numbers that the seller gave me, so it sounds like it is original engine, transmission, and intake, sounds good to me. thanks again
