Hello,
I am in the process of restoring the 327 in my 68' I recorded the VIN on the egine which is or looks like VO424HT in the front of the engine and 391678 in the back of the engine.
Can anyone help me understand what these numbers mean ?
I would appreciate any assistance.
Thanks
<PS> You guys and gal's have some real pretty cars I think this is one of the best Vette sites I been to so far.

Looks like your engine was built in Flint (V) on April 24 (0424) and is a 350 HP manual trans (HT). The correct block number is 3914678, maybe you can't see one digit. On the same pad where the V0424HT is located, there should also be a five digit number. If these are the same five digits as the last five of your VIN, it is the original engine for that car assuming no one ever restamped another engine and put it in so the "numbers match".
