Well man you have heard them all... and I have to say.. try to fix it yourself with the help here... you will be amazed in yourself... I paid $900 to have my rear wheel bearings rebuilt by an "expert" only to have them go out 13 months later just before the C3VR gathering,(12 month guarantee... imagine that).... so i decided to do it myself the next time, went with rebuilt trailing arms, new suspension bushings etc... etc... with the help here it really was breeze (and i was on crutchers too) now I have almost finished the front suspension... Like Luke/Paul, and the rest said... dive in there man.... you ain't gonna hurt nothing, and ask away when you need help... most of us have been there, done that... Hell... I told my wife when I got this.. it was ready to go... didn't need nothin'.... yeah right...

wel thanks to all of the input, there is a little problem with me doing my own work right now, because lack of knowledge, experience or self esteem, and the fact that i manage a meat department so it is hard for me to go to work with dirty greasey hands to cut meat for people those are all excuses, good ones but excuses, the real reason i take it to shops and pay more for it is because my gargage has to be accessible for the ramp in the van for the daughter wheel chair, so it vette gets to park in the gargage parked as bloody close to the wall as possible, usually with in 4 inches from passenger side. I am looking into other ideas for the wheel chair van, and i don't mean to sound cold but father in law has three to four car gargage across the alley from me, they are full of his crap but i am working on plans to purchase them before he dies. Anyway the shop found hoses not ran correctly and have to order a part for the wiper door, hell ithis could be the thrid time to replace a part for all i know, but thet seem very confindent that they will have it all working corectly, i will talckle the fiber lights this winter, will have shop in olympia look at ingintion buzzer when he fixes the hood this winter, it is good to know i have a place to come and hear from people for all over the counrty, not just people but freinds, thanks to all who care.

driven. Now its complete except that the tachometer isn't functioning. Like
you I don't have a place to work on the car myself & I don't have the know
how to work on her myself. I've been burned by a few shops but have finally
hooked up with a good mechanic. One day the money will stop flowing
outwards.

Been there - sold it - bought it back. Fix it when you can - dive in.
Last time I drove Blu the radiator pissed all over the ground. I've been walking around it for a month deciding when to fix this "newest" problem.
It's getting old driving it once and then something else goes wrong...I've had 90% of this car apart and let me tell you I know the good and bad. I really can't get into taking stuff apart more than once, or twice , or three times, but it'll have to happen. The wife is scared of the thing now and won't ride in it for hardly any distance.
So, I'm working myself up to get'r done, the nicest part of the year for weather is coming and I'm looking forward to cruzin.
