Duh !!! I mean 74 !!

Welcome - plenty of Vettes here in all stages of restoration to help you out. It's way to soon to get discouraged - there's plenty of time for that and remember that one repair will generally lead to two or three more.
It's a lot of fun and you always learn something, usually a week or two after you've done the job the hard way, but learning none the less. So keep looking, searching and asking questions around here and you 'll be fine; well as fine as you can be with this group.
Welcome!

Kimberly - Welcome to the family. I hope you read my entire item here. Theres a reason I want you to..
Your car - If you have frame issues, I say get rid of her. You wont get hurt. Thing is theres no such thing as a cheap vette. only a car more money then sanity would fix. A car with a bad motor and a bad frame no matter how much money your spending your gonna be SO upside down its not funny. IF the frame is ok and you can get to the birdcage do it. With the old man being a wrench, the motor is no biggie but keep in mind paint, interior and everything else gets real expensive really quick.
Ok, who am I to talk...... I found a GORGEOUS 81 in the colors I was dying for with low miles and a terrific interior. I paid about 11000. NOW I get the car home, the intake is cracked, the exhaust is shot the maint receipts were NOT for the car I bought and the carb needed to be rebuilt. This was a quick 4k. Next the rear end needs to be rebuilt 4500 then the brakes need to be rebuilt etc etc etc... I now have about 26k into the car... THEN the new stereo and rims... Who am I to talk..
Its a labor of love not common sence.
Keep smiling (honestly) you own a Corvette....
Lets see.... 383 stroker, pipes, big stereo, etc etc..

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Kim, what can Is ay that hasn't already been said? he T-Tops leak? There are two kinds of Corvettes - those that leak and those that don't leak - yet.
Hang in there. Kevin gives good advice above. If the car is salvagable and you paid only $3500 for it, then it's sounds like you're starting off right. You've got a nice opportunity to make the car yours and do whatever you want with it. Have fun with it and once it's ready, DRIVE IT!!
Good luck. We're here for you!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
Kim.... I know what you saying.. C3 or any old vette is a love hate affair. I have a 75... now has a 383 stroker.. completed off the frame work.. been at it over 3 years.. money money.... still not done. Now redoing speedo.. and tack. New air and heat. Still have to complete the interior. 95% done. Never ends. Also have a C6 Z51 and want to put STS on it.. not enough time or money. But hang in there.. what a love affair.

WELCOME Kim!
All I can say is that it is just like everyone else has said above. I've had a rough time with my baby and I'm all alone in it by myself. The good folks on this Forum keep me going!
You already have 50+ points ahead of me, your hubby is a mechanic. Mine "thinks" he is.
He talks big, but does nothing to my car.
I got myself in this love/hate relationship with my C3 and I hope to GOD I don't have to ever give up.....I truly LOVE/HATE my car and hopefully, you will to.
