Vette(s): 1980 L-48 still in the middle of a frame-off.
Hang in there Bunky.   I started a frame-off on my car expecting it to be done in 1 year and I am on year 5 now. Everytime I look at it there is another problem... but who cares... I love the dang thing.

I got that Burnin love for that thing.

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

Kim:

After your body man assesses the extent of the damage.  Shoot me a PM.  There is a man here in Baton Rouge that has a ton of Vette on his property where he normally cuts the T Tops out of the later model C3's and converts them to convertibles.

If you cannot find the parts close to you, I know he is a option.  He has alot of cars and parts.  If you are in need, I will ask him if he would sell you what you need and he probably would at a very fair price.

Good luck, stay with it. As many people have mentioned, once you do that much work, you know what you have and you will be proud of it.

We all have had the same feelings, especially when you start one project and in the process find someting totally unexpected which is going to cost $$ and lots of time to fix.  It goes with owning a car that is this age.  We all come here for moral support as much as advise.  Welcome to the asylum Wacko

Arrrrrugh!! I should have never read this post. Just when I had just about made up my mind to run this POS into a tree, run it off a cliff, back over it with my truck, set it on fire, take a sledge hammer to it, leave it in Wal-Marts' parking lot with the key in it, prop a hog up in the road....... well, you get the idea. The problem I'm experiencing is I keep spending money, but I'm not getting anywhere. Sometimes I think I must be 'we todd it' to keep trusting people to do what they say. Like... the body guy that just RE-did my front-end to get rid of all the 'fish eyes' and cracks in the paint from the first job, didn't bother to match the paint. half-assed buffed the hood, left sags in the paint, no clear or buffing by the front parking lights and across the spoiler/scoop and with drops of dried paint hanging all across it, and two days after I picked it up, my right side grille falls out and goes sliding down the street because the idiot put it back together with ONE screw holding it in. Didn't bother to fix the other two mounts. Not to mention my headlights that are dragging on the bumper brackets and chipping the fiberglass now when I pull them up and push them down. AND, then he tells me when I go back that he's through with me, to get in my f'n car and get off his property in five minutes or he would have me removed. Wacko Ain't it swell owning a Vette. LOL
Someday....someday....someday I'll get to the Love part....Think I'll have another Dakeree
