Yes the floor is graded for a water run-off drop of about 5 inches back to front with another 1 and a half inch drop right at the door. I am not worried about the inspectors, I REALLY don't want to screw up the nice job this guy did on both the floor and the siding.

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.

Hey, that's perfect. Just leave the door open about 1 inch, and let the water run right out the door. As long as it don't freeze, it should be ok. will your driveway be paved, or is it rock? If it is rock, your tires would get messed up, |smile|

I have a paved driveway. It is crowned pretty well so I don't have to worry much about water freezing in front of the door. If it does, well I'll just force myself to stay home from work till the spring thaw.

Dang You guys are killing me. So much for the budget. Running water, floor drains, and paved driveways. Of course with Glenns money, he could afford the paved driveway. They wanted $12,000 to pave mine 2 years ago. I am planning on running 2 - 3inch PVC pipes to the garage. Oh and dont even suggest a toilet. I cant tie in to my septic from the garage. |laugh|

Trust me Rick, Glenn does not have a bunch of money. Glenn just cuts the tuffest deal he can on this stuff and does as much work as possible himself. I know that cause I speak with him occassionally. I also talk to doors, grass, paint...whatever will listen that I don't need much effort to hold in one place till I finish talking. Go get a price for a garage like I am having done and compare your price with mine. Remeber you have to pay someone to do all the excavating, cement work, the framing and roofing, siding, shingling, windows and doors and also resurfacing 120 square feet of the driveway. ( no relatives please :-) . That is also why I am doing my own engine. Anybody can spend 35 or 40 thousand for a garage and 10 to 12 thousand for a big block fuel injected engine. To get them both for under 25K shows there is not a lot of extra money to go around. If I had a lot of extra money, there would most likely be five different Vettes in the garage ( one of each flavor c1-c5 ) cause in order to be politically correct, you need one of each. I wonder if Jay Leno will go to Carlisle and buy the evolution display to put in HIS garage? |smile|

OWWWW, I must have hit the nerve Glenn, Sorry. Just teasing in good fun you know. One of each flavor huh. I would settle for just one more, either a C2 or and early C1. Just thinking about owning an early C1 makes me drool.. |smile|

I have an extra mocrowave in my basement family room, which I could take out there, and I have a refrigerator in both garages, but I don't have a tapper!!! That would be nice!!! |cheers

Finished the electrical over the weekend. We have been in a drought for what seems like forever and of course while trying to dig the 24inch deep trench the inspector wants, it poured and poured all weekend. Nuttin' but a mud bath. Anyhow we got it done and today the inspector is comming out to do both a rough and final electrical inspection. All I need now is the door hung ( a sub contractor is doing that ). I ( and this will create many coments ) actually do have a microwave, mini refredgerator and a sterio for the garage. Thought about a nice recliner and big screen TV but was afraid the big red money pit would get it's exhaust in an uproar over it. |biggrin| I can drink beer, eat and listen to the radio while working on the car but it is stretching my very limited resourses to sit and watch TV while waxing the car.

My garage work came to a standstill this weekend. Rain, rain, rain. I had a foot of water in 2 corners. So I cancelled the work crew. I did go out and buy $210.00 worth of materials with some spare cash I found. (Dont tell Glenn, he'll want his 2 cents back)
