WAKR was one of the first stations in the area, and is still going strong. It's almost remarkable. Alan Freed, the man who coined the phrase "Rock and Roll" started his radio career there, then when to Cleveland, then to New York where he uttered those words. My Mother in Law used to go to his Akron dances when she was a teen. Now she is 72. Yep, WAKR has been there awhile.
It will fun for you to see how much this has changed. I looked at Baltic and find it's about 1 1/2 hours away. Not bad at all. If you have a problem when you pick up the car and hit the road, don't hesitate to call me.
I appreciate it, hopefully it all goes well and there are no problems.
Here is a picture of the 05 Mustang if anyone is interested.

Nice Stang, I had a 67 GT Fastback when I was in high school. I would like to have a new one, but the next car will be for my daughter. Of coarse it will be something from the mid 90's and low on horsepower. Don't want her to get in too much trouble.
Welcome to the forum. The price looks fair if you know the care and history on the vette. I would move the paint job to near the bottom of the list. Your list looks good but be sure to check the front and rear suspension. You may need new bushings soon given the age. Also disconnect the half shafts for the rear spindles. Then check the spindle bearings for end play. A good range is .001" to .003" but I think the factory spec. allows up to .008" which I here from people is too much.
I like to pick a system or area each winter to work on and then have it ready for the next driving season. Just do a little at a time, that way you don't break the bank and can still enjoy driving the vette.
Enjoy

A Ford on a vette site, sort of like a post turtle. if you don't know what that is it is a turtle oup on a fence post in the middle of nowhere, you know it don't belong up there so you just have to stop and knock the stupid thing down.
Just pokin' fun, welcome until I purchase another vette my daily driver is a 95 mustang GT (but I won't be posting any pics) also own a dodge minivan ( wheel chair accesible) ($50,000.00) cost more than the vette and the mustang combined.
also have yahama gas powered golf cart frame fitted with a 1923 Ford model T "C" cab pick up body.

Ahhhhhhh! Now ya done it! Get him boys!!
KIDDING ALSO!! My wife drives a Windstar!! We all have skeletons in our closet!! And that is a nice looking skeleton!!
Welocme aboard! Fully agree with everthing that's on your checklist. Some other things to watch out for:
- Belts (not on your list)
- Dead Shocks (especially after sitting for 30+ years)
- Carb most likely needs a rebuild
- Leaking valve cover or pan gaskets
- Differential mount bushing (connects the rearend to the chassis - you'll know if you need one if the car makes a loud clunk when going into gear)
- Leaking PS lines or components
- Rear tires leaning in at the top (usually means the strut rod bushings are shot, strut rods themselves are bent, or the adjustment is out...)
- Staining on the inside of the tires - usually means that your calipers are leaking or the rubber brake lines are going...
- LOWER BALL JOINTS - take a beating on these cars
- Cap, rotor, wires, plugs
- Spring bolts and bushings (I have a spare set I can ship to you if yours are bad - save you $30)
- Power windows and locks - if the windows don't want to move on their own - don't force them!! The mechanisms probably need some grease and the motors probably need to be spruced up.
Well, thats a couple of hour work and a few feet deeper in the money pit!! I referred back to my log of all the work I did and what was most obviously stuff related to age - although my 79 has 2X the mileage!! There is some more mechanical stuff you should pay attention to after all the "bugs" are out....
It's a blast the whole way along!! List out the priority items to get the car running and rolling first!!
Again, welcome aboard and we're here for ya when the questions start to plague the brain!!
Happy motoring!

Welcome to the Shark Tank.
I think the apprasier was right on. Your uncle knows how bad you want the car and is taking advantage of the situation. But that's just my opinion.
You have a great start on your "to do" list, but I hope you checked the main foundation first. Depending on how it was stored, the frame might be rusted through.
The body is fiberglas, but everything else is prone to rust and dry rot. One of the worst things for a car in long storage is to start it up periodically. It may exercise the seals, but the water in the exhaust and condensation won't help matters.
Do you think critters might have made a home in any of the cavaties?
Do you think the gas might have turned to varnish?
If you really want this Vette for sentimental (family) reasons, fine. Just check it over real good and be prepared to spend your extra cash on it.

Thanks everyone for the pointers. There are some things that I haven't thought about that you bring up like the bushings and such. I'll take a closer look at the frame before I put it up on the trailer. I have heard from a couple of people about frame rust and the appraiser said he didn't see any but them again I don't think he laid on the floor to really check that part out.
I'll have plenty of time to get it on the road. Alot of the stuff will be pretty inexpensive to replace but may take a little time. I am going to empty the gas tank then flush out the whole system. I don't need to get any burnt or stuck valves because of that.
When I get it home, it will be going up on jack stands so I can check it all out real good from the underside. I have a good sized garage so it will be out of the way while I get it road ready.
BTW, sorry about posting the Stang picture but I am very proud of that car. It was in a hail storm back in February. I had to get a new roof, hood, passenger quarter panel and fender. Every part that faced the sky was damaged. I got it back from the body shop on March 29th. There are about 3 more items that will be put on the car like reflective side C-stripe, hood pins and side window louvers. They didn't want to put those on because he wanted the paint to cure on to the car first. They will probably go on either this weekend or next weekend. If anyone is interested, I can post some links of how the car looked during the repair process. They are pretty goarey (sp).
