And I do drive it. Still working on it as well. Once some of the mechanicals are done, I'll do the paint work.
Yep, it's ugly, and still a blast to drive!
I'll be traveling to pick up the Vette tomorrow. I'll go and pick it up on Friday morning. Hopefully everything will be done as far as the title and everything when I get there. I am sure my dad has a few things he wants me to help him with as well.
Ken,
I'll call you to let you know about what time to meet you.

I'm not afraid to let you know I paid $8500 for my Vette when I bought it...let's see 9, no...10 years ago! I'd be surprised if I've put more than 5,000 miles on it since then (hey, I moved to a dirt road, so my drive season has decreased dramatically!). But, like many first time Vette buyers I bought without knowledge of this site, or of Vettes in particular, so since the initial purchase I have spent close to my initial purchase price just to bring it up to satisfactory levels (she's by no means a show winner or trailer queen).
You seem to have a good handle on what you need to check and do. I am however confused when you say most of your repair parts are going to be inexpensive. All of us in the group will want the name and personal number of the parts supplier supplying you with these "cheap" parts! I hope that you make a conscious decision to replace as many parts as you can with NOS or OEM parts with the proper date codes! With this Vette only having 45K on it, you've got a great candidate for NCM judging if you keep it original.
My only last issue is to say "Welcome, brother of the Brown. May the white stripes always be moving beneath you, and the red and blue lights never be behind you."
Oops, forgot to mention I think you should get an AIM manual since you have all this "work" planned once you get your new baby home.
Want pictures ASAP!

I'll second that! At least you have a dash pad in yours! lol
Mickey
Congrats on your new acquisition.
Follow all the advice in the posts here you`ll be fine.
Drive the car, it`ll tell you what it needs.
Once you start driving it you`ll probably notice you need to replace seals and gaskets.
tune it up. change the fluids, fix the leaks as they appear.
Remember a safe care is better than a pretty car.
Mechanics first ,then work on the cosmetics.
Get your wallet out.
you`ll love spending every dime.
