Vette(s): 1972 corvette stingray convertible 2007 coupe

Ok, you guy's have forced me to give my 2 cents. Lets think about what GM has done in the retro area, mmmmmmmm NOTHING! They brought back the GTO even tho it's fast couldnt they have done a better job in the retro area and made it look like one?The SSR, not bad but not very functional, and very priceyyyy. Then they try something that looks like a PT crusier on steriods the HHR, wake up GM the population is going for the good retro's like the mustang, the chargers and now dodge is coming out with the challenger which looks great!!!(did I say that?) the new camaro from what I have seen doesnt catch my eye in the least bit.I was looking forward to the camaro coming back, but the pictures I seen of it wont have me running to get one. If they bring back the Stingray they will probably screw that up also and put it on a solice frame or something worse cavalier.Someone at GM needs a new home, they wonder why they are loosing money.

Maybe they should hire Chip Fouse or someone that has some vision to come up with some great cars.Think about what Jessie James could do for them,a corvette ZO6 that could make ice cream at 200mph!!!just a thought

I like my stringray, and really hope they dont screw it up!!!!

The thought of them putting the Stingray name on anything other that a Corvette makes me a bit ill.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.

The only cars GM makes that are worth a damn, are the ones that are at least 25 years or older!  I say that with one exception, even though I haven't driven one yet...I like the looks and styling of the Pontiac Solstice, but have yet to hear good or bad reviews about performance on it.

Imagine, combining retro with modern...getting pretty decent gas mileage with the horsepower of a hot rod...styling a car after one of it's early predecessors, but with just a tinge of modern flair, rather than trying to generate demand for something totally new.  The only thing GM has to do is attend a Barrett & Jackson auction to see that the masses want the early model muscle car styling.  I agree with the others, Ford and Dodge have gotten it right while GM is still locked in a room with no windows, TV, radio, demographic polls, or public opinion surveys, but rather just a food service slot so they can keep the bananas flowing to the "designer" chimps they are employing.

Sorry to anyone who might have friends or relatives who work in this capacity or any other for GM, well or maybe USED to work for GM considering the current disposition between the UAW and GM, but I swore off of any new GM product years ago.  The Vette is the only GM product in my stable, and will remain that way, unless and until I can afford another early model muscle car that might catch my fancy.  Of course, even then, I'm gonna be more likely to purchase an early model Ford, Chrysler or Dodge than Chevy, Pontiac, Olds or Buick.

To put a Stingray emblem on anything other than a true representation of an early model Shark will signal the utter and total demise of GM, and the point where I say with enthusiasm...Good riddance!

Sting Ray emblem BELONGS on a Vette - no questions here.

Make a new retro car from GM - YES. My picks would be to fix the Camaro and use that theme, the proposed model doesn't catch my eye either.

Could it be possible to make something as popular as a 57 or even a 55 Bel Air....

Endless choices.....GTO, Skylark, bring back the SS Impala..

If anything, make it retro, make it look fast sitting still, make it affordable, I know asking a lot, but the biggest car company in the world can do it.

I also swore off anything new GM years ago.I'm not interested in going back because they have nothing worth my hard earned money. They make way too many trucks and there not very good looking either. If I was in the market for a new truck I wouldn't give GM a drive through at a dealership. They have to get it through their heads that FWD is over!!Look at how many fleet sales they lost when the Impala went FWD.No more orders for police cars, cabs.Thats a lot of lost $ales. What were they thinking on that one?Off my box for now.
