Hey guys, first off let me say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.

I'm really pissed off right now. I thought I was almost done. I almost had everything. Except Bumpers/New Emblems/And Paint

Well, now I need to add a leather interior kit, then foam seat inserts, plus the install. Now my Part needed sheet is back up to almost $8,000!

Here is the spread Sheet link (EXCEL) Everything I need, everything I bought including totals.
http://fattyslims.com/vette/excel_master/vette_master_excel% 20-%20printable(MASTER).xls

This is what you really want to pay attention to:

Total So Far 12/20/05: (WHAT I SPENT) 19,586
Difference Remaining 12/20/05: 12,439
Sheet one total 12/20/05:  8,816
Document total 12/20/05: 26,734
Estimated Shipping 10/08/05: 900

This car is costing me $26,734 when I get done with it..... OMFG....

Difference Remaining 12/20/05: 12,439 - I ONLY HAVE $1,000 LEFT!!!1

This spread sheet really pissed me off.

Looks like yourA/C hoses were listed twice, I'm pretty sure you can get a better price from these people: http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalog/main_default.php

Are you sure you need both window motors? Slow windows are often caused by dirty, un-lubricated mechanisms. $1,000.00 to install the interior? Try doing it yourself, it's not that tough.

I keep most of my receipts, but i NEVER get them out and add them up.Don't know if the heart can take it. I get the parts I need when I have the cash to spare and so far have managed to keep the credit card out of the mix.

Same here; sometimes I do rough numbers in my head, but I try not to think about it.  I also buy parts that I will install "one of these day" when I come across a good deal.

When I bought my car last year, I gave myself 10 years to bring it to what I want (and it's not show or total resto...).  This way, I can spread the spending.

On the good side, once you have it done, you will REALLY enjoy it and you will only have to do simple regular maintenance for a long time (unless you drag race it....)

try Willcox for your parts.. they get most of the stuff from the suppliers on your list  but sell at wholesale price...  i think on average it saved me about 10%

Louis that car will cost you way more money than you`ll ever get back from it.

Get it back on the road and start enjoying it.

Do the interior later as you go.and all the other small stuff one at a time tick it off the list.

And like me and alot of other guys here, put your reciepts away and forget about them.

Happy holidays.

Bob

Old vehicles cost more to fix up than they are worth in most cases. Most of us here do this out love for the vettes. Its our hobby and passion. We also try to do a little at a time so it is not so painful on the pocket book. For me 2 yrs ago was the rear sup., last winter was the interior and this winter its the front suspension. I drive it in the summer and bond with it in the winter. Like others said, don't look at what you spent, just drive and enjoy be proud of what you have. You don't see a C3 on every corner like a rice burner.

I can think of many other cars that cost less to own and drive, but they are  vette Owen38706.5292708333
