Topic: Now I知 pissed, and depressed...
in Forum: C3 General Discussion
Obsessions cost money. I make sure that when we get parts for our cars, we get what we want but pay as little as we have to. And we do almost all the work ourselves. I keep my receipts in a filing cabinet in case I need to take something back. For example, lifetime guarantee spark plug wires. I payed for them once and I'm on my 3rd set. Like everyone is saying, enjoy your car, get out and drive it every chance you get, life is too short to worry about every thing that needs to be replaced on your car. You will never stop building on your car, no matter how finished you think you are, it's a Corvette fact.

This about sums up how satisfying this hobby is when you DIY! A new heart going into the beast!

An example, I just did an intake swap on my vette. It now looks like I may wind up having to send my steering column out to get rebuilt because of the key warning buzzer. I was getting ready to fire the car up and turned the key on. For some reason I thought of something else, I turned the key off. The buzzer was on so I pulled the key, the buzzer stayed on. It is now getting ugly in my garage.

Are you sure you need both window motors? Slow windows are often caused by dirty, un-lubricated mechanisms. $1,000.00 to install the interior? Try doing it yourself, it's not that tough.

I got my '73 window lift motors from Advance AP for $52. Fit perfect except for changing wiring connection (eay fix). May not be original but who will see them. And what a difference...
