Hey,
Finally went the 495 miles from when I bought the car needed to roll it over to the next thousand miles.....hah...bought it at 113505....now it shows...13008...not 14008 like i expected....i guess its just stuck on the 3...but its kinda irritating...anyone have any clue how to fix this? especially if it doesn't involve removing the steering column! =)

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
First thing you need to do, is drink a lot of hot water, and shrink yourself into a 15LB midget. Then you might be able to reach up under the dash without removing too much stuff. What you want to do is almost impossible.
I don't see any way to get up to the speedometer, without dropping down the steering column. When I worked on my ignition switch, I removed the driver seat, and dropped the column, and then I could reach up to the speedometer.
Try corvettefaq.com and see what it says.
It is a real BIG PITA!!!

It eventually rolled over after an additional 100miles or so, it read 13104 and then 14105, dunno what triggered it, but the Trip Odo. has the same problem. Strange, but like the "Door Ajar" light...not worth tearing into the dash for.
