Vette(s): Red 79 with Oyster leather interior. Has the spoiler package, and is overall in really nice driving shape. Hope to restore it to original over time, and since the mechanicals are good, should primarily involve things like trim, interior, etc.
Hi Nick,
Glad to hear you verified the VIN and engine stamping; and since its a Ca. emissions car my guess is it probably is more rare than the average L48.
I have a 79 L48 (Federal emissions) that I've done a lot of work to, especially in the area of getting the emissions back up to snuff etc.
Would be glad to get together sometime and trade stories/share info. This is a great hobby and a great forum...you'll find (as Im sure you have already) that folks here have a wealth of information to share, and are a great bunch of people. I've picked up more info here than I have from the stack of books I have on the shelf!
Since we are probably only a few miles apart (I'm in The Colony), let me know if you'd like to get together sometime. Also, if you are looking for parts or help, the guys over at Corvettes of Dallas are great. (off of I-35, not far from your neck of the woods)
Good luck, and talk to you soon,
John
