Not sure if I am posting this in the correct forum but here goes. I live in Illinois and have a lead on a Vette in Alabama. Does anyone know of reputable company who would go and inspect the car? How do you protect yourself from someone telling you the car is garbage and then they buy it for themselves. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
If your intrest is high enough, Make the trip and check it out. Have any friends you can trust who live around there? Pictures are taken of only what they WANT you to see, NOT the bad.

scrappy78(enterprise, AL), and 73&95 vette(Birmingham, AL) are regulars here, and they are fairly close to Montgomery. Might shoot them a P/M and see if they are close enough to scope it out for ya.

murf70 hey I might be willing to check the car out for you. But I'm not a mechanic or a corvette expert so the inspection would be just the basics. pictures,obvious stuff like rust or missing parts and vin matching
That is exactly what I am looking for! Someone who I can trust who knows what a Corvette should look like to assist me in my final decision. If you are still in agreement, please let me know ASAP to work out the details.

So i can run to Montgomery next weekend and check it out for you BUT i would need to know that your serious about buying the car first. second I'll p\m you my email and you'll have to fill me in on the details
like what you know about the car and the sellers location.
Well big-time thanks to Scrappy who came through in a pinch. Scrappy went to view the car for me and found it wasn't exactly as it was described. I can't thank him enough for taking the time to drive out and look for me.
