Terry,
What brand paint and color are you using??  I am in the middle of body work, but hopefully will be going to paint next month.  I am told I can't get the '69 Monza Red anymore.  Looking for a close match...
Steve

Hey Steve
The paint is BASF #564. There is no name for it that I know of. I'd say it pretty much matches Torch Red. I had the painter spray some samples on a metal sheet. It was a tough decision, epically when my wife Patty had to agree with my choice.Confused Terry

Well they finally shot the body this week. The color is AWESOME!! There was a small run and a few fish eyes they need to buff out and re-clear. I went down to check on it and they we're wet sanding the whole car down again to do it over. They are being Very fussy, just the way I like it. Its taking a long time but should be show quality I hope. Should be ready to put together real soon. I was hoping to have her done before the show. Maybe I could enter just the cage???............Thumbs%20Up

You can get Monza Red. The paint shop has a code book that tells them how to mix the color. They add a little of this, and a little of that....and presto...Monza Red

Terry, I had the same problem with some fisheye when I had my 66 painted. I was wondering why they had to sand the whole car down just to take care of a minor defect. I was told that you can't "spot" the clear coat and get a quality paint job. It sounds like you have someone who will be proud to say "I painted that car".

I've got paint work coming up also but I'm dissapionted to here that some of the old colors aren't available. I know they can match quite a bit but I was looking towards Steel Cities Grey for the silver '81 and I'm afraid it may be a complicated mix. Oh well ! I guess with silver that looks like primer, most anything would be an improvement, but with the cost of paint these days this may be a once in a lifetime chance for me.
