How many times have we heard this ?
THE BITTERNESS OF POOR QUALITY REMAINS LONG AFTER THE SWEETNESS OF LOW PRICE IS FORGOTTEN.
Does this ring a bell .................?

Hey, Boatman. I remember it well. First saw it in a shop where I worked . . . WHOA !!!- FIFTEEN years ago
(lavanyakarazoll!!) Liked it so much, I hung it in my own business.
When I first saw it, it had been attributed to John Goddard - 18th century furniture maker. Have searched for years to verify that - no luck.
John
PS - underneath it I posted our "shop labor rates"
Standard rate: $40/hr
If you watch: $50/hr
If you ask questions: $75/hr
If you help: $100/hr
If you worked on it first: $150/hr

All good reply's. My wife has this one on the refrigerator door:
NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS
Gettin' off the subject here, but sure glad the beer cooler is out in the shop.
On the $50 and hour "watching" rates. I go to what I consider one of the best C3 mechs around, and I am sure there are others like him, but he charges much more then $50 an hour. But when he is wrenching my car, the phone rings, and he talks for 10 minutes, he sure does not deduct that 10 minutes from his bill. But, I still go to him, because when you pay the dough, you call him up, he gets you in, and keeps the appointment.
The good part, he KNOWS what he is doing.
