Vette(s): 1969 Daytona Yellow Coupe - ZZ4/4 speed, Hurst shifter, Griffin aluminum radiator w/ Dual Spals, March Serpentine Pulley kit, Hookers with STS Racing Baffles, VB&P Suspension bits, 17" AR Hopsters, L-88 Hood
I like the shot of the yellow coupe in the museum too...
That car is 1 of 16 1969 L-88's built with an automatic tranny. The plaque in front of it said it was immediately torn apart after purchased new in 1969 and re-built for drag strip duty. The current owner got his hands on it a few years back and restored it back to new condition.Daytona6938405.5690625

My thoughts exactly. Nice shots. Seems like it was a great trip and lots of fun.

I didn't stay on Route 10 so no Phoenix to Blythe leg for me. I cut across southern Arizona and CA on Route 8 which took me into San Diego instead. I didn't really pay much attention to the gas mileage since I know it would be bad. I stopped around 16 times for gas and started looking for stations at around 1/4 tank. I had to get home by Thursday night because my wife was going out of town on Friday, so I put in a couple of very long days. I hit the road at 12 noon on Monday and drove down to Bowling Green..took around 8 hours. Spent the morning on Tuesday at the NCM (never been before) and Holley (thanks again After Shark ). Got on the road at around 11AM, put in 12 hours behind the wheel and stopped in Ft. Worth, TX for the night. Wednesday was the longest day...I drove 15 hours to just outside of Tucson, AZ. Thursday was around 8 hours to my house. A trip like this is not for the faint hearted. I was sore as hell for a couple of days and my ears were ringing because of the side pipes/racing baffles, but I wouldn't trade the experience of driving a classic Corvette across the country for anything. It's not everyday an opportunity like this comes along, so I jumped all over it.

You went way south, that's really nice country to joy ride in . I enjoyed it when I drove for a living, I can only imagine how it must have been driving in such a great classic. Now you have some wonderful memories to share.

Vette(s): 1965-327 coupe, 1968-small block coupe, 1969-427, 1971-454 coupe and currently a 1976-ZZ4 coupe reborn again,and hotter than ever.. Add a 1996 CE LT-4 for backup

Wow, it's now in my dreams, the open road with my C-3 together as one. Non stop until I'm tired, looking down the hood  and seeing the road ahead and the arch of the two front fenders, the purr of the engine and the warmth of the leather seat..O'Boy...I want to go cross country....Terry

Great pictures and one heck of a trip. You've done something that most of us here can only dream about doing. C3 + Open roads = One Great Adventure.
