Corvette Central, Eckler's and others all sell refurbed steering wheels. Check them all out.

As far as installing an ABS, I have no idea if there's system that can be retrofitted. I'm not aware of any completely engineered system available, and I believe trying to put one together with mixed parts at best without proper engineering and testing would be expensive and wouldn't work well, if not be downright dangerous.

You can buy a good c3 with a good paint job for around $8,000-12,000. Unless you go for the 78 Pace car.look around and don't be in a hurry , besides, by waiting longer you can save more for a better one. Loojk for a good paint job but do't make that the only priority. look under it at the frame to be sure it isn't bent or crooked and the bushings for old or newly replaced ones . that will tell you if the body has been off for restoration, sounds like you know enough about engines. good luck and happy hunting, check out ebay for pricing too on vettes |cheers|

My '70 has a whopping two speakers in the dash...not too sure if the newer C3's have more than that. The aftermarket guys sell speaker boxes that are custom fit to the rear compartments of the C3's. They also sell complete carpet kits, seat covers and just about anything else you can think of for the interior. |toungecool|

I had a custom enclosure for the rear built. I like it because it hangs from the rear deck so I still have plenty of room for the tops (even though I just got a pair of original GM T-Top brackets for the luggage rack - YAY!).

The enclose holds 2 speakers facing front, and two sub-woofers facing down. I have to more speakers that were added to the kickpanels in front and the stock two speakers in the dash. That's 8 all together. Then mounted a 200wt power amp in one of the rear glove boxes. With the side pipes - I need the power!! |eek|

The rear enclose is carpeted with the same carpet/color as the rest of the car so it looks like it was there from the factory. Maybe soon I'll get some pictures if anyone is interested.

I like the 78 to82s you get a little more storage area with the big windows and you can pull the shade to cover it up if you want.yah, they all ride like a truck but you'll never get all the waves and looks from a pickup.they've all got little quirks in them ,and they can be real money pits, but the feeling you get when your driving down the road is worth it,just ask anybody who owns one.Flat glassers,Bumper cars, bubble backs, from 68 to82 there all sharks and they all rule C4 ,C5 and even C6 owners wish theyres looked as good as ours. Save the wave, Sharks rule Ron 78 |wavey| |thumb| |bouncy| |saluteflag| |withstupid|
