And they do come in the mini size now.
Have you seen the SUV orangatang? Lots of muscle.

I think a 20' long hardened chain wrapped around the rear axle and a pole or tree with a hardened pad lock would be the best deterrent.
Then they would need the super-duper bolt cutter.
Anything less than that they could still winch it up on their trailer and off they go. With your Vette, club, lojacks, and the trunk monkey.

I think Grant makes a Steering Wheel Removal Adaptor Kit so you can take your steering wheel with you like the removable stereos. I like the wheel boot. Although we do not just need to worry about stealing the car but parts like T-Tops. The best thing is never leave the car alone anywhere.

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.

I have a battery cut off switch in the battery box so you can't see it from the outside. I do not normally use it because the car is locked in the garage when we are not cruising. While we are on the Hot Rod Power Tour we will be using it.
Trunk Monkey is the way to go Watch

I've yet to find a Trunk Monkey Dealer so I've got a Clifford G5 Alarm. It may not stop an perfessional car thief but will stop most local thugs.

[QUOTE=steves74]With spring just around the corner, I was wondering when you are traveling around, how do you prevent someone from stealing or towing your car. Besides the car alarm, I had these ideas...
Remove the coil wire.
Use the "club".
Use a big ass chain and lock to "post" or etc at Motel.
Battery disconnect switch.
Sleep in your car.
Remove steering wheel.
THANKS, steve

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Now you guy have me concerned. All I have is a carport and a 82 CE under a car cover. I was just figuring that there was not a lot of demand for a 82 corvette. Could I be wrong? Does anyone actually know first hand of someone that has had his car stolen. By first hand I mean have talked to that person not just heard about it.
I'm also wondering about who sells ASS CHAINS!!!!!!!! corvette440hp 2008-02-16 09:00:16

I use LoJack with the early warning system on both vettes. If someone wants the car the pros just drag them onto a flatbed and thats the last you will see of it. Anyone goes more than a block with one of my vettes and I get a text page and phone call from Lojack.
