I am trying to research the history of our Vette.  I was told CarFax does not go back to 81.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

I would start with your local DMV and see if they can use the VIN and give you a history of how many owners their have been in your state. YOu may get lucky.

Good luck

I appreciate that Willis67 however I had the car trucked in from Arizona, mannnny states away.  I was wondering if there was some sort of corvette registry that possibly tracked that info

No site that I am aware of can do this. The DMV can, and it doesn't matter where the car came from. My '74 was an Indiana car, and I was able to trace it to the original owner. It's probably the best way to do it. Check with the DMV in your state, and see...you might be surprized!
Some states may have "privacy" laws that could hinder getting the info, but you should be able to get something. What have ya got to lose, but a couple of bucks for the search?

thanks for the info, I did not know an individual state could go across state lines for car records
