Please forgive the comparision, but I am interested in info about production break downs. In the Mopar world they have info to tell "X" amount of "Y" cars, in "C" body style, were built with "Z" engines and "W" transmissions. Does any one have such break downs for the C3 year cars?
Along those lines; I have a very early 1969 L89 convert 4 speed car, 700306, I'm interested in if it might be the first L89 convert built that year?

This will take some serious mathematics...not one of my best subjects...
In the world of Corvette, there are no specific details on how many cars were assembled with these (exact)particular components, or options. We can tell how many were L89, how many convertibles, how many 4spd(M20/21/22), etc. But how many were built exactly like yours, with the exact same equipment? Not a chance.
The only thing you can do is list the totals of L89 cars, convertibles, 4spds(20/21/22), etc, and then do an average. That will put you in the ball park...(might be a Little League park, but...) Then you have to figure in the mandatory equipment required for certain options, such as radio deletes, M22 trans, Transistor ignitions, J56 brakes etc. It can get a bit overwhelming.
There's just no sure fire way to do it. The way these cars were ordered/built, especially the earlier years, it is entirely possible that there are NO two cars exactly the same. Yup, it is possible. Not likely, but possible.
It could be fun to try to get the stats on your particular car, tho, just to see what you come up with.
btw...the NCRS does have a few "Registries" that cater to specific cars, and sometimes, the Judging Guides/Manuals will have info on the "earliest known" car to have this or that equipment. Have you checked with NCRS? Just an idea...Adams' Apple 2007-03-03 17:48:40

I know there are many red 1982 t-top automatic with 350/200 engine, 2.87 rear end, and gray interior.
Not many choices in '82.
And I see lots of red ones.
At least it is not a CE.
I had to put the decals on mine so I could find it in the parking lot.

I will try to pursue NCRS lead again, I got no responce when I asked that question once before, maybe they forgot my question.
