Does anyone have a radio that fits the bezel of a 68 that is ipod and MP3 compatible. And what do they think, is the connections easy to get to, and where did they get it. I have only seen them in catalogs and it was very vague. I was wanting to know what someone who has one thinks about it.

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks. #2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
I bought a Kenwood from Corvette America that I like.  It's MP3/IPOD compatible and it came with a Bezel that fit right in and looks just like the original Bezel.  The previous owner of my car had a Sony Power Booster in the back glove box that I hooked up to it.Big smile  I went to Car Toys and got the Alpine speakers for the kick panels.  They fit perfect in there, I think they are 4x6 (if I remember correctly).  My car is a '69, but this system will fit in your car.  I got some speakers that sit flush against the back in the cubby hole from Corvette America also.  I am happy with it.  It's not like the Boze System in my 2000, but it beats the original radio.  My car is pretty loud, so it's hard to hear the radio, but I can hear this system pretty good through the loud engine and road noise.
How do you like your 1999?

That was my concern about the bezel. The bezel consists of the opening for the radio, all the gauges and up to the windshield wiper switch.  It is made of metal and not plastic. I hate to change all this out because of a radio Ipod. Is this what you had to do. I have a 68 convt and I put the dyna pad under the new carpet to help on the noise. I have kenwood speakers in the kick panels and larger box speakers in the rear. These are under the rear hatch and you don't get the best range.
The 99 has the bose speaker system and is a coupe so it is great to listen too. No comparison to the 68.  Except the 68 being a convt. is lots of fun.

Well there is an easier and very cheap way to hook up an I pod plug..Radio shack and many other places carry what is called an RF interceptor..all you need is to unplug the antenna and plug this in and plug the antenna wire back into the RF..it T.s in..turn the radio to 88,9 and listen away..cost about 20 bucks..sound is not perfect..but keeps things easy and cheap..you can hide the plug in the ash tray.. I got one and will be putting my stock radio back in using the RF to actually play my Slacker on my blackberry..I don't pay for music..

Vette(s): 1979, Targa Blue (72 Color), Pace Car rear spoiler, L88 hood, Dark blue factory interior, 525HP 406, HD 700R4, 370 gears,Steeroids, composite rear spring, TT IIs wrapped in T/A Radials.
My radio has a set of RCA jacks in the back for and auxiliary input source and I ran a wire with the jacks on one end and a headphone jack on the other. Now I use my stereo for my iPOD and iPhone. Awesome. Most radios with CDs come with these jacks for CD changers...Wink

We carry the Custom Auto Sound units.  They make one that has an input for iPod and memory stick.  It sells for $239.99, or $499.99 with a remote 10 CD changer.

Thats ironic, that is what i have now. I have a custom autosound radio cassett. model A9956 for a 68-76 vette. I think I bought it about 15 years ago?? Not real sure. It has the white and red jacks in the back. I guess for another amp.
I went to their web site and they show a USA-630 which has the USB input, USB flash drive for playback of MP3/WMA song files.   Is this what you have the USA-630. It also mentioned a CAM's 6 disc CD  changer.
The main thing is that it fits in my bezel. I don't want to buy a bezel just to put a radio into it.
Oh do you take trade in's??? LOL
I could not tell from the web site of Corvette Specialities if they have what I want. No pictures.
