Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

We all know that with the 1980 Corvette (or was it late '79?), the curse of the 85 mph speedo was leveled upon us. So when did that law get undone and the numbers started to climb again?
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

My 81 has a speedo that shows max of 85. I think it went up in 82. The 81 has the fewest hp in 25years!!

The 85mph speedo started in late '79 production...gov-ment mandated for the '80 model year.
My '85 has the bar-graph speedo that stops at 85mph, but the digital readout will go MUCH higher...

Joel, you can't know if it goes higher than 85! The speed limit doesn't go higher than that!

My buddies and I had a Trans Am that had an 85 mph speedo and we used the odometer to clock it at 120 once
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Only had have CDUCTIV up to 105. Had my Mustang to either 130 or 135 and a Dodge Dart to 125, hehehehe.
