Vette(s): SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
Sold - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe

Don't know if this directly applies, but when I purchased a set of 16" A-Mold clone wheels to put on "The Toy" I needed to add 3" spacers to get them to the correct position on all four corners.  No clearance issues except for a very minor rub on the front fender openings at full lock.  I was a little concerned about using that thick a spacer but a member here told me as long as the center of the wheel width was at the stock position there wouldn't be any undo wear/tear on the wheel bearings.

Thanks, Norsky. I’m just trying to figure out what others have done to know the most back space you can use before having to modify. I have Rocket Attack wheels that I just bought. Love them!  I won’t put tires on them until I’m ready in a couple months. I have a rear one on now and it fits weep without a tire. I’m thinking I will need to move the e brake to make it work right. It’s a 5.5 back space wheel. 18x12. Mean looking.

Dang, that's 4 inches wider than stock.  Do you have flared fenders?  You may need offset trailing arms.

Yes, 4 inch flairs. I think I may get away with just relocating the enrage brackets. I’ll weld them to the top of the arm versus the side it’s on stock. Should give sufficient clearance. I want to go with a 330 tire in the rear. Maybe 305 in front.

I thought 4" was stock but I don't know for sure.

Great looking wheels by the way.

I agree. The stock 8" Rally wheel was basically 0" offset (4" backspace).  I have American Racing Vector 8.5" wheels w/ negative 0.5" offset and w/ 255/60-15 tires.  There's about 3/8" clearance to the parking brake bracket.
