Hi everyone, I ran across a brushed aluminum horn cap for 1977 on ebay. The seller is claiming that these were recalled because the glare may distract drivers? He is selling it for $295.00!!!!!! I'm not sure what the deal is here or if he is running a scam but wanted to know if any of you ever heard of this recalled horn cap from GM. Thanks, I hope someone can shed some light on this!

The recall was real. GM DID recall the brushed luminumium horn caps due to glare problems. That don't really make a NOS, or original horn button automatically worth the farm, tho...
If your car was originally delivered with the brushed cap, and you're going the NCRS route, it might be worth something to have the correct cap, but I doubt it would be worth $300 for a 1-2 point deduct....
