Vette(s): 1982CE,32,000 and counting. (fast!!) 1981 Vette, black on black. ZZ4 (quick!!)
I have a thread going in the body section that I started awhile ago. Some things have caused me to put this in the back burner. One my Sister passed rather unexpectly so I'm griefing over that and I've got all the probate stuff because I'm the only one left.Anyway if you want to recap it's in the body section. The one post said that the fade decal will curl.I've thought about this and wonder why it didn't curl when the factory did it.I think 82 was the first yr GM went BC/CC on it's paint. If that is correct why didn't it curl from the factory.I've got to get all my ducks in a row because I'm going to have this done hopefully in the next week or two.It has clear on it now.He said he car reclear with out runinnig the factory fade. Thanks

zgator,
Sorry to hear about the passing of your sister. My condolences to you and your family.

As for the clear not affecting the decal. Are you sure the clear is on top of the decal?

Or did the factory (Bowling Green) put the decal on last?

Maybe one of the old timers at the factory would know.

I know for some of the pace cars the dealer or the customer put the decals on. Of course, the 1978 Pace Car was built in St. Louis, before clear coat was used.
